Non-Alcoholic Susumaniello
A Puglian red, dark and juicy with soft tannin, brought back into serious planting after decades of near-neglect. The name describes how heavily the young vines crop — like a loaded donkey.

Why is Susumaniello worth trying?
It is one of the genuine rediscoveries of southern Italy — deep, juicy fruit with a soft finish, and a character that belongs to Puglia rather than to anywhere else. Growers replanted it because of how it tastes, which is the best reason there is.
What does Susumaniello taste like?
Deep, juicy dark fruit with soft tannin and a warm finish. It is generous rather than structured, and that generosity is useful once the alcohol is gone, since ripeness is one of the few things that fills the gap.
Where is Susumaniello grown?
Puglia, in the heel of Italy, and effectively nowhere else. It was nearly abandoned before a recent revival. The name refers to how heavily the young vines load with fruit.
