Non-Alcoholic Riesling
High in acid and intensely aromatic, giving lime, green apple and a distinctive petrol note with age. It runs from bone dry to lusciously sweet, and German labels say which.

How do I tell a dry Riesling from a sweet one?
Read the label rather than guess. Trocken means dry, Halbtrocken off-dry, and Kabinett through Spätlese to Auslese climb in ripeness. Riesling's acidity keeps even the sweeter styles bright, which is why it is one of the most food-friendly whites there is.
Is Riesling good without alcohol?
It is arguably the best white grape for it. Lime, green apple and floral aromatics are all carried by compounds a low-temperature process preserves, and Riesling's high acidity gives the wine a backbone that does not depend on alcohol at all.
How should Riesling be served?
Cold but not iced, around 45°F to 50°F, in a glass with some bowl. Its aromatics are the point and they close down if it is too cold. It holds up well over an hour in the glass.
