Who they are

Laura Taylor had given up alcohol and was heading to the Poconos with friends. Sparkling water and diet soda were what the shops offered, so she took her daughter to the supermarket, filled a cart with lavender essence, juices, citrus and herbs, and made three drinks at home. She put the best one in a one-litre bottle and took it with her.

She came back, went straight to her laptop to see what existed in the category, and found it did not have a name yet. Mingle followed in 2017, run out of Pennsylvania.

Bethenny Frankel joined as an investor and partner in 2023. The range now runs to seven flavours in cans and larger bottles.

It varies by flavour and each can prints the figure on the front. Key Lime Margarita is 7%, Blackberry Hibiscus Bellini and Cranberry Cosmo 5%, Raspberry Rosé 4%, Blood Orange Elderflower Mimosa and Pineapple Paloma 2%, and Cucumber Melon Mojito contains none.

Are Mingle drinks sweetened?

With organic cane sugar. A can runs 50 to 60 calories with 10 to 12 grams of sugars, and the exact figures are on every product page.

Which flavour is the lightest?

Cucumber Melon Mojito and Key Lime Margarita at 50 calories a can. The Mojito is the only one made without juice; the Margarita carries salt, which keeps it dry.
