Who they are
Blutul is made in Bologna by a family producer, and it makes vermouth — which is a harder thing to do without alcohol than it sounds, because alcohol is what carries the bitterness in a fortified wine.
Their answer is grape must and a herbal extract blend over a de-alcoholized wine base. The must supplies the sweetness and the body; the herbs bring back the bitter edge.
Two bottles: Blanc, the dry white one, wormwood-forward; and Rosso, the sweet red, fruity and a little bitter behind it.
What is the difference between Blanc and Rosso?
Blanc is the dry white vermouth, built on white wine and a wormwood-forward herb blend. Rosso is the sweet red, built on red wine and grape must.
Can I still buy these?
No. beClink no longer stocks this range. The individual bottles remain listed for reference, and each one points to what we carry now in the same style.
