Some drinks are refreshing and some are comforting, and this is firmly the second. Ginger brings heat, vanilla brings sweetness, and a little oat milk pulls the whole thing together into something you drink slowly with the lights low.

Make it yours

Without milk

Leave it out for something drier and spicier. A different drink, equally good.

Warmed

Gently heat everything but the milk. Excellent in winter.

Extra spice

Grate nutmeg over the top and add a cinnamon stick to stir with.

How to serve & pair

Serve this Spiced Ginger Vanilla Dessert Mocktail well chilled to highlight its creamy texture and layered spice. This alcohol-free cocktail pairs beautifully with:

  • spiced cakes and pastries
  • vanilla desserts
  • apple-based desserts
  • shortbread or butter cookies
  • custards and creamy desserts

Perfect for dessert courses, cozy evenings, or as a rich non alcoholic cocktail after dinner.

Common questions

Will the milk curdle?

Not with these ingredients — there's no acid in the drink. Add it last and stir gently.

Oat, dairy or something else?

Oat is creamiest and neutral. Dairy works; almond is thin and gets lost.

Can I make vanilla syrup?

Equal parts sugar and hot water with a split pod or a teaspoon of extract. It keeps a month.

Is it very sweet?

Moderately. Cut the vanilla syrup by half if you'd rather the ginger led.
