Manhattan Mocktail

Whiskey alternative and vermouth, stirred cold and served up — no citrus, nowhere to hide.

Non-alcoholic Manhattan mocktail in coupe glasses with cherry garnish on a bar setting

Time

5 min

Serves

1

Base

Whiskey

Glass

Coupe or martini glass

Garnish

Cherry or orange peel

The Manhattan is two ingredients and a bit of patience. There's no juice to brighten it and no soda to lengthen it, so everything depends on the stir and the bottles. Take thirty seconds over it and you'll taste the difference immediately.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Add Whissin Non-Alcoholic Whiskey and vermouth.
  3. Add 2–3 dashes aromatic bitters.

  5. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  6. Garnish with a cherry or orange peel.

Make it yours

Perfect

Half sweet vermouth, half dry. Lighter and a touch more savoury.

Black

Swap the vermouth for non-alcoholic amaro. Darker, drier, excellent.

On the rocks

Over one big cube instead of up. It opens out as it dilutes.

How to serve & pair

Serve this Non-Alcoholic Manhattan well chilled in a coupe glass to highlight its smooth, spirit-forward profile. This alcohol-free cocktail pairs beautifully with:

  • charcuterie boards
  • aged cheeses
  • dark chocolate desserts
  • roasted nuts
  • rich appetizers

Perfect for evening cocktails, elegant gatherings, or a refined alcohol free whiskey experience.

Common questions

How long should I stir?

Thirty seconds, until the outside of the glass frosts. Dilution is an ingredient here and under-stirring is the usual mistake.

Sweet or dry vermouth?

Sweet for a classic Manhattan. Dry makes something closer to a martini — good, but a different drink.

Does the cherry matter?

More than you'd think. A proper cocktail cherry adds sweetness as it sits. The bright red ones add colour and nothing else.

Can I make two at once?

Easily. Stir both in the same mixing glass with plenty of ice, then strain into two chilled coupes.
