Non-Alcoholic Citrus Orchard Royale

Sparkling wine layered over aperitif and vermouth — the most dressed-up drink here, and the easiest to build.

Non-alcoholic spritz cocktails with orange slices served in wine glasses at an outdoor gathering

Time

5 min

Serves

1

Base

Sparkling wine

Glass

Stemmed wine glass

Garnish

Expressed orange peel

This is a spritz that's had a think about itself. Aperitif and vermouth go in first and give the drink a spine, then sparkling wine lifts the whole thing. It looks like it took effort. It takes about ninety seconds.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Fill a wine glass with ice.
  2. Add aperitif, vermouth, and Lyre’s Italian Orange.
  3. Stir gently to combine.

Make it yours

Drier

Skip the soda and use a brut sparkling. Sharper, better with food.

Rosé

Swap the sparkling for a non-alcoholic rosé. Softer, and the colour is worth it.

For a table

Build the base in a jug, then top each glass as you pour. Bubbles don't do jugs.

How to serve & pair

Serve this Citrus Orchard Royale well chilled in a wine glass to highlight its layered aromatics and effervescence. This alcohol-free cocktail pairs beautifully with:

  • seafood dishes
  • light pasta
  • citrus salads
  • charcuterie boards
  • brunch dishes

Perfect for celebrations, aperitivo hour, or elevated alcohol free entertaining.

Common questions

Four bottles seems like a lot.

It is, and it's why this one is worth making for people rather than for yourself. Everything in it earns its place, but a Golden Hour Spritz gets you close with two.

Which goes in first?

Everything except the sparkling wine, over ice, stirred. The bubbles go last and don't get stirred.

Can I leave out the vermouth?

Yes, and it's still good — a little brighter and less rounded. Add a splash more aperitif to compensate.

Why express the peel?

The oils are most of the aroma. A peel dropped in without squeezing is just garnish.
