Berry Grenadine Margarita Mocktail

A margarita with pomegranate in it — brighter, a little sweeter, and very hard to stop at one.

Non-alcoholic strawberry margarita mocktail with fresh strawberry slices, ice, and sugar rim in a rocks

Time

5 min

Serves

1

Base

Tequila

Glass

Rocks or margarita glass

Garnish

Fresh berries or lime wheel, with optional sugar or salt rim

This is what happens when a margarita meets grenadine and neither backs down. The pomegranate brings depth the lime alone can't, and the tequila keeps it from tipping into squash. The sugar rim is optional but the drink is prettier with it.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Run a lime wedge along the rim of the glass and dip into salt or sugar.
  2. Fill a shaker with ice.
  3. Add non-alcoholic tequila, lime juice, grenadine, and optional agave syrup.
  4. Shake well for about 10–15 seconds until chilled.
  5. Strain into the prepared rimmed glass over fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with fresh berries or a lime wheel.

Make it yours

Sugar rim

Half sugar, half salt. Sounds odd, works beautifully.

Sharper

Skip the agave entirely — the grenadine is already carrying the sweetness.

Frozen

Blend with a cup of ice. Best thing to do with this on a hot afternoon.

How to serve & pair

Serve this Berry Grenadine Margarita well chilled with a rimmed glass to highlight its vibrant color and refreshing character. This alcohol-free cocktail pairs beautifully with:

  • light desserts
  • fruit-based dishes
  • summer appetizers
  • cheese boards
  • brunch spreads

Perfect for celebrations, parties, or a visually stunning alcohol free cocktail experience.

Common questions

Do I need the agave as well as the grenadine?

Usually not. Taste first — the grenadine is sweet enough on its own most of the time.

Can I use other berry syrups?

Raspberry works well, blackcurrant is excellent. Anything that keeps some tartness.

Why does mine look brown rather than red?

Too much lime relative to grenadine. Add a little more syrup and the colour comes back.

Can I make it ahead?

Mix everything but the ice, chill it, then shake to order. It keeps a day in the fridge.
