About Pierre Zéro Signature Rosé Sparkling

The Signature Rosé is the sparkling pink in the Pierre Zéro range, built on dealcoholized rosé wine with concentrated grape juice folded back in — just under a quarter of the bottle.

That juice fills the space the alcohol left, and it is why this sits sweeter than the Signature Sparkling beside it in the same range. The panel on this page carries the figures for both.

Bottled in France for Pierre Chavin, with a little natural sediment expected.

About Pierre Chavin

The Béziers house behind nine alcohol-free ranges, sold in more than sixty countries.

Maison Chavin works out of Béziers, in the Languedoc, and makes alcohol-free wine at a scale almost nobody else does — nine separate ranges rather than one, sold in more than sixty countries.

The division that matters to anyone buying runs underneath the names. Some ranges are made as wine and have the alcohol taken back out at the end. Others are never fermented at all, built instead from grape juice, infusions of oak and grape seed, and long maceration, so there is no alcohol to remove. Pierre Zéro, the flagship and the oldest of them, is the first kind. ÔPIA and Le Petit Étoilé are the second.

That split is also where the sulfites fall. Le Petit Étoilé is made without preservatives or sulfites and was built for French bistros; the Pierre Zéro bottles declare sulfites on the label. Two answers to two different questions, from one house.

The grapes are the French standards — Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot — and the bottles come full-size and in smaller formats for one.

New to Non-Alcoholic Rose Wines?

Rosé here runs from bone dry to distinctly sweet, and the bottle rarely tells you which. The sugar per pour does.

Common questions
Why does it list grape juice?
Concentrated grape juice is added back after the alcohol comes out — just under a quarter of the bottle. It replaces body the alcohol took with it.
Is it sweeter than the Signature Sparkling?
Yes, and by a clear margin. Both sit in the same range; the panel on this page has the figure for this one.
