About Pierre Zéro Rosé Sparkling

The sparkling rosé in the Pierre Zéro range is built on Chardonnay rather than on a red grape, with Merlot blended in to bring the color.

Oak wood infusion and a yeast infusion go in alongside, which is what separates the standard Pierre Zéro bottles from the Signature four beside them — the Signature range adds nothing but carbon dioxide.

It comes in 750 mL and in a 200 mL bottle sold by the six.

About Pierre Chavin

The Béziers house behind nine alcohol-free ranges, sold in more than sixty countries.

Maison Chavin works out of Béziers, in the Languedoc, and makes alcohol-free wine at a scale almost nobody else does — nine separate ranges rather than one, sold in more than sixty countries.

The division that matters to anyone buying runs underneath the names. Some ranges are made as wine and have the alcohol taken back out at the end. Others are never fermented at all, built instead from grape juice, infusions of oak and grape seed, and long maceration, so there is no alcohol to remove. Pierre Zéro, the flagship and the oldest of them, is the first kind. ÔPIA and Le Petit Étoilé are the second.

That split is also where the sulfites fall. Le Petit Étoilé is made without preservatives or sulfites and was built for French bistros; the Pierre Zéro bottles declare sulfites on the label. Two answers to two different questions, from one house.

The grapes are the French standards — Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot — and the bottles come full-size and in smaller formats for one.

New to Non-Alcoholic Rose Wines?

Rosé here runs from bone dry to distinctly sweet, and the bottle rarely tells you which. The sugar per pour does.

Common questions
Which grapes is it made from?
Chardonnay with Merlot blended in. The ingredient list names both.
How does it differ from the Signature rosé?
The Signature bottle is built on rosé wine with grape juice added back. This one is Chardonnay-based, with oak and yeast infusions in it.
