About Pineapple Paloma

Mingle Pineapple Paloma in a 355 mL can. Tropical pineapple against tart grapefruit, with key lime and a salted edge.

Salt is on the ingredient list, which is what keeps it from going sweet and is why it reads as a paloma rather than a fruit soda. Grapefruit and key lime concentrates carry the tartness.

Serve it cold, over ice with a salted rim. Contains no alcohol.

About Mingle Mocktails
Everything from this producer

Started by a Pennsylvania woman who came home from a weekend away and could not find a drink for herself.

Laura Taylor had given up alcohol and was heading to the Poconos with friends. Sparkling water and diet soda were what the shops offered, so she took her daughter to the supermarket, filled a cart with lavender essence, juices, citrus and herbs, and made three drinks at home. She put the best one in a one-litre bottle and took it with her.

She came back, went straight to her laptop to see what existed in the category, and found it did not have a name yet. Mingle followed in 2017, run out of Pennsylvania.

Bethenny Frankel joined as an investor and partner in 2023. The range now runs to seven flavours in cans and larger bottles.

Is it sweet or tart?
Tart. Grapefruit and key lime concentrates do most of the work and salt keeps the finish dry, so the pineapple reads as fruit rather than sugar.
Why is the sodium higher than the others?
Salt is an ingredient. It carries 90 milligrams a can where five of the seven Mingle flavors carry 10.
How do I serve it?
Cold, over ice, with a salted rim and a wedge of lime.
