About Rosa Negroni Set

A Rosa Negroni is the same architecture as a Negroni with the bitter corner softened. Where the original leans on a firm, pithy bitterness, this swaps in a lighter spritz — sweeter, rounder, and easier to drink long. It is the version to reach for if the classic has ever tasted too severe.

Lyre's Rosa Negroni Set — three 700 mL bottles: the Gin Alternative, the Vermouth Alternative and Italian Spritz.

Gin Alternative, previously Dry London, brings juniper, coriander and citrus peel. Vermouth Alternative, previously Apéritif Rosso, adds blood orange, vanilla and caramel. Italian Spritz is the softer bitter — orange and gentian, and the sweetest of the Lyre's spirits.

How to build it. Equal parts over ice, stirred, with an orange twist. It also takes soda well: build the three in a tall glass, top with sparkling water, and it becomes a longer aperitivo for a warm afternoon.

The three bottles cover more than one drink between them — a gin and tonic, an Americano, a spritz. Refrigerate after opening and drink within twelve weeks.

Named after the Australian lyrebird, the world's greatest mimic — which is the whole idea.

Mark Livings and Carl Hartmann founded Lyre's in Australia in 2019, setting out to build a range that echoed the classic spirits rather than inventing new flavors.

The name is the method. The lyrebird imitates whatever it hears — other birds, a camera shutter, a chainsaw — and the range is built the same way, each bottle answering a spirit a bartender already knows how to use. That is why the labels say Gin Alternative and Dark Rum Alternative rather than inventing a word for what is in them.

The bottles carry the Social Animals, a cast of characters drawn one to a liquid. The range now runs from the spirits through a sparkling Classico to canned cocktails, and the company sells in more than sixty countries.
