About The Full Set, No. 0–9

All ten Curious Elixirs, one bottle each. It is the only way to drink the whole range without committing to six of anything, and the range is the point — these are ten different drinks rather than ten flavours of one.

You get the bitter end and the sweet end in the same box. No. 1 is a pomegranate Negroni built on gentian, dry and bracing. No. 8 is a digestif poured in two-ounce measures, blackberry and fig over bitter roots. Between them: a spicy pineapple margarita with ancho and jalapeño, a cucumber collins, a blood orange spritz, a cherry and cacao drink aged over American oak, a coconut colada in the range's only can, a chardonnay sparkler for toasting, a wine-inspired red, and a barley lager.

Each one carries a botanical the house builds into the recipe — rhodiola, damiana, ashwagandha, lion's mane. Curious numbers its drinks rather than naming them, and after ten bottles you will know which numbers are yours.

Three things worth reading before you pour. Curious Zero, the lager, contains gluten — it is brewed from malted barley. No. 3 contains ashwagandha, which which is not advised in pregnancy. No. 9 contains California poppy, which which may cause a false positive on a drug test. Every bottle in the box lists its full ingredients.

About Curious Elixirs

Everything from this producer

Booze-free craft cocktails from Brooklyn, built to be sipped slowly rather than swapped in.

Curious Elixirs began in Brooklyn with a question most drinks companies skip: not how to imitate a cocktail, but how to make something worth ordering on its own terms. The answer was to build each recipe the way a bartender builds a drink — real fruit juice concentrates, botanical extracts, bitter roots, salt, heat — and then to number them rather than name them, so the range reads as a set of experiments instead of a lineup of substitutes.

There are ten. A pomegranate Negroni, a spicy pineapple margarita with ancho and jalapeño, a cucumber collins, a blood orange spritz, a cherry and cacao drink built on American oak, a coconut colada, a chardonnay-based sparkler, a bitter digestif poured in two-ounce measures, a wine-inspired red, and a barley lager. Each one carries a botanical the house builds into the recipe rather than adds on top — rhodiola, damiana, ashwagandha, lion’s mane, ginseng.

The New York Times has put them on its best-of list five years running. The house publishes a full panel and a full ingredient list for every drink, including the ones that complicate the sell: which contains gluten, which may pick up a trace from shared machinery, which is best avoided in pregnancy. That is rarer than it should be, and it is why this range is easy to write about accurately.

Common questions

Is this the whole range?
Yes — one bottle each of No. 0 through No. 9, ten in total. If a single number turns out to be the one you want, every drink in the box is also sold by the six and by the twelve.
Is there anything in the box to check first?
Three things. Curious Zero is brewed from malted barley and contains gluten. No. 3 contains ashwagandha, which which is not advised during pregnancy. No. 9 contains California poppy, which which may cause a false positive on a drug test. No. 6 contains coconut and may carry trace gluten from shared machinery.
How much is in each bottle?
Nine of the ten are 340 mL bottles, poured as two drinks each — except No. 8, the digestif, which sized at six short measures. No. 6 is the range's only can, at 355 mL.
Which one should I open first?
It depends what you drink already. No. 1 if you order Negronis, No. 2 if you order margaritas, No. 5 if you drink whiskey, No. 7 if you want something to toast with. No. 8 is the one to save for after dinner rather than to start on.
