Gifts for Clients Who Don’t Drink: What to Send Instead of Wine

Send the gift you'd send anyone, in a version every client can open: sparkling, a red, spirit alternatives or sparkling tea, with your note and logo.

A wicker gift basket with a bottle of So Jennie non-alcoholic sparkling wine, a wrapped gift box with a green ribbon, a small card and fir branches

Send a client who doesn’t drink the gift you’d send anyone else, in a version they can open: a non-alcoholic sparkling wine, a red, a set of spirit alternatives, or sparkling tea. It still feels like a celebration, and nobody has to explain anything. Add a short note, and let each gift ship to the client’s own door.

Why skip the guesswork

Clients don’t drink for all kinds of reasons: faith, health, pregnancy, work, or simply choice. You rarely know which, and it isn’t yours to ask. A bottle of wine can land badly with someone who doesn’t drink. A gift everyone can open lands well with everyone.

That’s also why a whole client list can get the same gift. Non-alcoholic sparkling wine or sparkling tea suits drinkers and non-drinkers alike.

What to send, by client

The wine lover

A non-alcoholic sparkling wine for a toast, or a red for dinner. Sparkling is the safer pick when you don’t know their taste.

The cocktail fan

A set of spirit alternatives, so they can make their usual drink at home. Add a recipe card for a classic.

Someone who never drank

Sparkling tea, made in wine bottles for the dinner table. It isn’t modeled on wine at all, so it never reads as a substitute.

Halal-observant clients

Drinks that are halal certified. Each product page says when a drink carries the certificate, and our guide to halal non-alcoholic wine explains what it covers.

Four gifts that work for almost any client

Each one is a full gift on its own. More in gift-worthy bottles and sets and sets and samplers.

What to avoid

Wine by default

Don’t send wine with alcohol unless you know the client drinks.

A message about drinking

Don’t make the card about not drinking. Write about the year you’ve worked together.

The why

Never ask a client why they don’t drink, in the card or anywhere else.

Buying for a friend or family member instead? Read gifts for someone who doesn’t drink.

Common questions

What do you give a client who doesn't drink?

A non-alcoholic sparkling wine is the safest choice for a toast. A red suits a client who enjoys dinner. Spirit alternatives suit a cocktail fan, and sparkling tea suits a client who never drank. Add a short note about your work together.

Is non-alcoholic wine a good gift for Muslim clients?

Views differ, and it's the client's call, not ours. A halal certificate means a certifying body has checked how the drink is made, and several of our wines carry one. If you're unsure, sparkling tea isn't modeled on wine at all.

How far ahead should I order client gifts?

Choose the arrival date when you order, and each gift ships on the day it needs to. For Christmas delivery in the contiguous US, order by Tue, Dec 15. Our corporate gifting page lists the order-by date for each holiday.

Can I add our logo?

Yes. Your logo and note can go on a printed card in each gift. A note on the packing slip instead is free.
