Best Non-Alcoholic Wine

Red, white, rosé and sparkling without the alcohol, each picked for a different kind of drinker, with sugar side by side.

BEST NON-ALCOHOLIC WINES

Good non-alcoholic wine is made as wine first, then has the alcohol taken out, so it keeps its grapes, structure and finish. Below are our picks across red, white, rosé and sparkling, each answering a different question, with the fact that decided it and the bottle that came closest.

Be ready for one difference: without alcohol, wine is lighter in body, and reds lose the most. In Wine Spectator’s 2026 blind tasting of 50 alcohol-free wines, sparkling bottles and aromatic whites fared better than reds. If you are new to it, start with sparkling or a crisp white; for red, look for an oak-aged blend.

How we picked: in October 2026 we compared the label records of the 84 still red, white and rosé wines we had in stock, then shortlisted by sugar, method and style; where bottles tied, our editors chose. The chart below shows every bottle we weighed. Our Editor’s Choice bottles are ones our team has tasted.

How to choose

Red, white or rosé

Whites and rosés are the easiest place to start, and the driest here have almost no sugar at all. Reds lose the most structure when the alcohol comes out; if you miss tannin, look for an oak-aged blend.

Dry or sweet

Sugar is on every label we list. Under 3 g per 100 mL reads dry; around 4 g reads rounder; the semi-sweet styles run to 12 g.

0.0% or under 0.5%

Many bottles are 0.0%. Others are labeled under 0.5%, the level most markets allow for a drink sold as non-alcoholic. Each pick shows which.

Dealcoholized or never alcoholized

Dealcoholized wine is made as wine and has the alcohol removed, which keeps more of its structure. Never-alcoholized bottles are built from grape must and tend to read cleaner and fruitier.

Serving and keeping

Chill

Whites and rosés well chilled, 45–50°F; reds at cool room temperature, 60–65°F.

Glass

A white wine glass for whites and rosés; a large bowl for reds; a flute for sparkling.

Open

Give a big red twenty minutes open to soften its tannin.

Keep

Recork and refrigerate. Most producers say to finish within three to five days.

Common questions

What is the best non-alcoholic wine?

Does non-alcoholic wine taste like wine?

Not exactly. The closest are made as wine first and have the alcohol removed afterward, so they keep the grape’s character, but they are lighter in body, and reds lose the most. Many bottles are 0.0%. Others are labeled under 0.5%, the level most markets allow for a drink sold as non-alcoholic. Each product page states which, and the shop’s Alcohol Content filter sorts them.

Does non-alcoholic wine have sugar?

Some, and it varies widely. The wines in this guide run from none at all to 12 g per 100 mL. We list the label’s sugar on every bottle, so you can compare before you buy.
